As I write this on Father’s Day Sunday, it is the Summer Solstice and the first day of summer. I’m reminded of the changing seasons, cycles of light and dark, changing colors of nature—the blooming and fading of nature/prakriti. In our humaness, emotions, moods come and go as the thoughts that create them.
Yoga is the practice that explores our inner nature AND the outer interactions and relationships to help us connect to the inner stillness, no matter what goes on around us. When the dramas of life have less of a hold on our attention, we can see more clearly the truth and beauty around us.
Just back from Vermont, which is verdant and lush, there were already little signs of gold in the green maple leaves. So quickly summer will brighten into fall, and so it goes…….
In the intention to do less, be more the observer, I’m more present and awed by nature’s display of beauty and change. And there is much appreciation of this continuing spectacle of color and change influenced by these cycles of life, seasons, and nature.
Look at what a short break from being busy can do!!
